چکیده

The evaluation of the nutritional value and parameters ruminal fermentation tropical forages is important, aiming at its efficient use in ruminant feeding. This study was developed to evaluate forage accumulation, chemical composition, protodioscin content, digestibility, vitro degradation kinetics different Brachiaria spp. cultivars periods. research carried out semi-arid region Brazil, from April 2016 2017. experiment laid as a split-plot arrangement randomized block design which five ( B. decumbens cv. Basilisk, brizantha cvs. Marandu, Paiaguás, Piatã, Xaraés) represented plot four periods (establishment, transition, dry, rainy) subplot. There cultivar × period interaction effect for accumulation rate (FAR), Xaraés showed highest mean (54.1 kg/ha.day DM) rainy season. lowest yield found Paiaguás dry season (24.1 DM). Cultivars had crude protein content. matter digestibility values were Basilisk periods; Marandu transition period, Piatã their establishment. A correlation between composition. content during establishment (5.5 g/kg low (<1.0 can be used options environment, potential are suitable animal production even lower water availability.

Nutritional Characteristics of Forage Grown in South of Benin.

In order to provide recommendations on the most useful forage species to smallholder farmers, eleven grass and eleven legume forages grown in Abomey-Calavi in Republic of Benin were investigated for nutritive value (i.e. chemical composition and energy content) and fermentation characteristics (i.e. gas and volatile fatty acid production, organic matter degradability). The in vitro gas producti...

Management of Meloidogyne incognita with Chemicals and Cultivars in Cotton in a Semi-Arid Environment.

Management of Meloidogyne incognita (root-knot nematode) in cotton in the United States was substantially affected by the decision to stop production of aldicarb by its principle manufacturer in 2011. The remaining commercially available tools to manage M. incognita included soil fumigation, nematicide seed treatments, postemergence nematicide application, and cultivars partially resistant to M...

Forage quality of three life forms of rangeland species in semi arid and semi humid regions in different phenological stages

For determination of grazing capacity, information of forage quality is essential which is influenced by various factors. The main objective of this research was investigation on effects of species, phenological stages, and life form on values of forage quality indices of six range species. Species were two grasses (Bromus tomentellus and Dactylis glomerata), two forbs (Ferula ovina and Coronil...

Forage yield and quality of barley-annual medic intercrops in semi-arid environments

On-farm production of protein is limited in most dairy farm operations in arid and semi-arid environments. Cereal-legume intercropping could be a viable option to obtain forage with higher protein content. A two-year experiment was conducted during 2009 and 2010 growing seasons in a loamy soil to determine whether intercropping pattern of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and annual medic (Medica...

Groundwater level fluctuation forecasting Using Artificial Neural Network in Arid and Semi-Arid Environment

In arid and semi-arid environments, groundwater plays a significant role in the ecosystem. In the last decades, groundwater levels have decreased due to the increasing demand for water, weak irrigation management and soil damage. For the effective management of groundwater, it is important to model and predict fluctuations in groundwater levels. In this study, groundwater table in Kashan plain ...
